Braised dishes and the signature order

Red-braised beef brisket
Large pieces of slow-braised brisket, tender enough to eat as they are or simmer briefly in the hotpot.
Braised pork intestine
We highlight its clean flavour and soft texture, combining braising spices with the rich hotpot broth.
Chicken feet and pork trotter
The chicken feet are braised to order until the meat slips easily off the bone. The pork trotter is soft, sticky and collagen-rich, becoming even more flavourful after absorbing the tallow broth; both can be eaten as they are or returned to the pot.
Fresh-cut beef
Freshly sliced beef for quick cooking; we recommend a mild or clear broth for those avoiding strong heat.
Yacai and pork fried rice
Egg fried rice with minced pork and preserved mustard greens, a filling counterpoint to the chilli.

Broth, desserts and practical notes

Choose your heat carefully
The pure beef-tallow broth is hand-fried with spices, described as fragrant without harshness and resistant to clouding after a long simmer. Mild, medium and extra-hot are available. Even mild may be intense for visitors, so a divided pot is safer; keep water and a sesame-oil dip at hand.
Cooling sweets
Hand-rubbed bingfen comes with glutinous-rice cakes and fruit such as watermelon and pineapple for relief from the heat. Tangyoguo is coated with hawthorn, chocolate or nuts, while rose-flavoured dongba offers a gently sweet finish.
Crowds and comfort
Old posters, bamboo thermos flasks and retro wooden tables create a neighbourhood atmosphere, but tables are close together. Peak meals are noisy, with slower initial service and extra orders; visit off-peak if you want a quieter meal. We praise the warm local aunties who clear empty plates and refill water. Ask about luggage storage, and expect to refill the shallow dipping bowls several times.
