Hongdingyan, at Zhaoshang Da Mofang in Chengdu's High-Tech Zone, combines Chinese-inspired stage performance with hotpot. The room and show are the main attractions; the food is competent and delicately portioned rather than a value feast.

Stage, room and meal

Seven acts over 90 minutes
Around 90 minutes, including Han-dynasty drum dance, a Zhuo Wenjun–Sima Xiangru duet, aerial Green and White Snake choreography and Sichuan face-changing throughout the meal.
A theatrical palace interior
The 3,000-square-metre room has a 12-metre dome, two large screens and dynamic lighting evoking an ancient-Shu palace.
Lychee red broth and green-plum sour soup
We recommend an individual split pot of lychee red broth and green-plum sour soup. The lychee broth is a layered sweet-sour flavour without aggressive heat, while the plum broth is refreshing. Abalone, sea cucumber and marbled beef are plated delicately and often served in coloured-glaze bowls and bronze-style tripod vessels, reinforcing the palace-banquet presentation.
Costume rental
Over 200 costumes are listed, with basic styling quoted from about CNY 99. Confirm whether clothing, makeup, photography and time are included in the package.

Location, sessions and reference prices

Address and metro
Zhaoshang Da Mofang, 1777 North Tianfu Avenue, High-Tech Zone. For reference, direct access from Xindao metro Exit C on Line 9.
Fixed sessions
We recommend lunch at 12:30 and dinner at 18:20, warning that late arrivals miss the opening. Confirm the current sessions with the venue.
Seat-based prices
For reference, standard seats from roughly CNY 300+ at lunch and CNY 360+ at dinner, stage-facing seats around CNY 400+/CNY 460+, and VIP from CNY 500+. Child concessions are mentioned; confirm actual prices.

Seat choice matters here

Face the stage
We recommend stage-facing seats or a central front-row position for sightlines and interaction. Whether the upgrade is worthwhile depends on how much the show matters to you.
Avoid obstructed or inward-facing seats
Avoid seats below reliefs, facing a dark wall or in upper private rooms. Study the seating plan rather than relying on a VIP label.
Expect a fast meal rhythm
Food and performance move quickly, and darkness can obscure the dishes. Eat between acts where possible rather than missing both the food and the stage action.

Reservations and spending decisions

No walk-in queue
Fixed sessions must be booked through the mini programme, with no walk-in queue. Book three to seven days ahead for weekends and holidays through the official venue yourself.
Choose it for the experience
This is a dinner show, not a traditional hotpot meal judged by portion size or value. If broth and ingredients are your priority, consider the restaurants in the food guide instead.
Photography packages are optional
Photography packages offer mixed value. Compare what is actually included, use a companion's phone or rent clothing without buying photographs.
