Park Hotel's butterfly pastries are known for their buttery aroma and crisp layers. We bring together the pastry shop's address, flavours, purchase limits and delivery suggestions.
Shop, flavours and reference prices
- Fansheng Pastry Shop
- 28 Huanghe Road, Huangpu — around the side rather than at the hotel's main entrance. For reference, 08:00–20:00 daily; confirm before visiting.
- Original large butterfly pastry
- For reference, CNY 32 per 200g packet, approximately five pieces. We recommend the original for its buttery aroma and gentle sweetness.
- Cheese large butterfly pastry
- For reference, CNY 35 per 200g packet, approximately five pieces, with a savoury cheese flavour.
- Small pastries and purchase limit
- Small pastries are listed at about CNY 32 sweet or CNY 35 savoury, and may sell out early. A limit of six packets per person per day has been listed, with flavours combined; confirm the current rule.
Buying at the shop
- Timing
- Avoid weekends, holidays and the period around Chinese New Year. We recommend weekday 11:00–13:00 or 19:00–20:00, or before 07:30 for the first batch.
- Queues and resellers
- Weekend morning waits can reach one to three hours, compared with 30–60 minutes on weekdays. Staff issue queue numbers, so you can spend the wait nearby and return as your turn approaches. Avoid resellers outside because of mark-ups and older stock.
Other places to buy
- ALDI
- ALDI has stocked the pastries at about CNY 39.9 per packet, with restocking around 08:00. Check availability at the individual shop.
- Department-store counters
- We recommend counters at Wing On, Huijin, Shao Wansheng, Sanyang, Xinchangfa and Laotongsheng. Stock may be less fresh and more fragile after transport than a direct purchase.
Packaging and delivery
- Shelf life and courier
- Bagged pastries have a listed ten-day shelf life; eat them promptly. An SF Express office on the ground floor of Hongxiang Building opposite can handle shipping; allow enough transit time.
- Gift boxes
- For reference, about CNY 15 for a red box holding five or six bags, and CNY 138–198 for tins or special gift boxes, which may also require queueing.
Restoring the crispness
- A brief reheat
- We recommend 30 seconds to one minute in an air fryer or oven, or brief microwave heating, to refresh softened pastries.
